Getting Stated: Creating and Evaluating Effective Action

Read this before your action and complete after it.

1. Who is your target audience? Do they already know about Tibet? Be precise about exactly who you are seeking to reach and...

2. Why have you chosen this audience? What influence do they have? What impact can they make?

3. What are you seeking to communicate? Is your action / message communicated in a way that is appropriate for your audience? Be precise about what you want them to do, when you want them to do it what response you want as a result of their action. (Write it down).

4. What response will you create? Intellectual and emotional. Will they be fascinated to know more or angry and upset? Will they be irritated by what you have done or impressed by it? See your action from the point of view of those you are seeking to reach. Will your action alienate your audience or will it achieve your desired result?

5. How can you measure the effectiveness of your action? What achievable targets can you identify? Is there a tangible step towards it that is achievable?

6. What follow-up action can you take to ensure your message is communicated and you receive feedback?

7. How will you acknowledge your own efforts or achievements? Did you achieve what you set out to do? It doesn’t mattter if you didn’t but can you make use of what you have learned ?
